- KNOWN PROBLEMS:
-
- If you are using the original PIPE: handler, you should set IOBUF in PBMMEM
- to 4K or less. There is a bug in PIPE: that causes it to drop bytes if the
- write request is larger than its internal buffer. A replacement queue-handler
- (the handler used by PIPE:) was written by Heinz Wrobel (heinz@hwg.muc.de),
- it is included in the special directory.
-
- There is a bug in the V39 mathieeesingbas.library (or 68040.library, as it
- affects only '040s) that causes the Netpbm programs to crash. A patch is
- included in the special directory, it installs a workaround in the
- mathieeesingbas.library. I think the bug is fixed in V40, but I can't check
- this... So, if some Netpbm programs crash repeatedly (usually immediately
- after starting them, with a 8000000? guru), try to run this patch.
-
- There exists a "pipe" program written by Andy Finkel, this enables Unix-style
- piping in the original AmigaShell. This program is known to be rather buggy,
- and several replacements are available. The best (in my opinion) was written
- by Michael van Elst, it is included in the special directory.
